Current available data shows approximately 34% of Comanche County residents have now received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine. Statewide, however, COVID cases are up 4% over last week. We continue to urge patience and caution in daily activities – while many of us in the CCMH family are fully vaccinated, vigilance must continue to be practiced until more of our community members are vaccinated. CCMH has seen a few cases of fully vaccinated patients who have subsequently tested positive for COVID, a stark reminder that the vaccine, while highly effective, is not 100%. Maintaining public health mitigation measures is essential to “bridge the gap” between the immunity the vaccine provides, and full protection.
Incident Command continues to monitor the COVID outlook in our hospital, our community, and our state. We have been excited to relax some restrictions, and look forward to being able to return to more of a “normal” state, if the pandemic continues to remain at a stable level.
