[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On May 11, 2023, the federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19 officially ended. While COVID remains an active concern in the healthcare community, the end of the PHE signals that we now move into an era of returning to mostly normal life while still remaining ready to navigate new challenges that may present in a post-pandemic world.
With the end of the PHE, COVID-19 Incident Command has officially disbanded after remaining active for over three years. The multidisciplinary members of Incident Command look back over these last three years with pride and gratitude for the storms weathered by all of CCMH’s dedicated team members. We can all confidently say that when our community needed us to be the leaders in an uncertain time, we were there. Even when we were not sure what the next day held, we showed up for our patients and each other. Bonds were strengthened and resolve was tested. Though not all of the memories are good memories, we look forward to tomorrow together. The work you do is, and has been, life-saving and life-changing.
- Patients are no longer routinely screened for COVID-19.
- Masking is no longer required unless an individual is symptomatic or has had known exposure to a communicable disease.
- Employees will no longer be tested at Occupational Health if symptomatic. If employees are not feeling well, they should stay home until they are feeling better. Employees are encouraged to take a home COVID-19 test or see their healthcare provider if they believe they may have COVID-19.
- COVID-19 vaccination is still mandatory for all staff members, contract staff, and anyone who provides services at CCMH on a regular basis. This may change in the future.
