You are the key to our success and without you, we would be just another hospital in Southwest Oklahoma.
Meet our team members who are being recognized for their extensive years of service!
Susan Tally joined CCMH 45 years ago! “I started at CCMH in May of 1979,” said Tally. “I was getting married that fall and needed a job and lucky that JoAnn Knecht took a chance on me and hired me as a medical records clerk. Over the years, I was able to learn all the different jobs in medical records at the time. JoAnn actually taught me how to code and encouraged me to continue my education in Health Information Management. Coding has always been a great fit for me. I enjoy the research involved and continuously learning new things. I progressed to supervisor and then manager of the coding department. For many years I was responsible for the facility coding, then in 2018 the professional fee (clinic) coders became my responsibility as well. Our department grew from 8 employees to our current total of 35 employees. It’s been a blast and has gone by in a blink of an eye. I keep learning a lot and enjoy mentoring new coders. I would not have lasted this long without my wonderful team. They are a great bunch of people for sure!” In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two grandsons and reading.
Joseph Carroll began his career at CCMH 35 years ago! Joseph has served as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, and Radiation Safety Officer. While not working, he enjoys fishing, golfing, and time with his family. “I love my chosen profession and have met a lot of great people at CCMH. Some have become lifelong friends. I would like to thank a few people in my field for all their support and help throughout my career: Larry Bread, Jules Bert, Frank Cable, Michael Morris, and Tom Neff,” said Carroll.
Edie Mathias began her career at CCMH 35 years ago! “I started out here as an inpatient, Med-Surg nurse. I had a wonderful mentor that saw potential in me and helped me grow,” said Mathias. “I was offered the opportunity to open our Nursing Transition Unit, serving as the Charge Nurse for several years. I was recruited to MMG Family Practice by Dr. Dale Duguid. I worked my way up into a Supervisor’s role, in the Family Practice Group. While under the Practice Management – MMG umbrella, I was given another opportunity to serve as a TJC/Quality and Safety Educator for 12 years. I followed Dr. Duguid back to the hospital as we grew the Hospitalist program. I have spent the last 5 years in Care Management and love the variety this position offers. I have enjoyed growing up here at CCMH. My goal when I started nursing school was to be able to make a difference in someone’s life, everyday. Memorial has made that possible.”
