The Volunteen program is a wrap and gave 31 teenagers the opportunity to be exposed to many aspects of healthcare this summer.
Teens have the opportunity to volunteer at different areas of the hospital, including surgicare, information technology, emergency room, home health, hospice, wound care, lab, hospice, patient rounding, human resources, admitting, physicians’ offices, gift shop, pharmacy, cath lab, surgery, electrocardiogram (EKG), and radiology, guest relations, nursing floors, and the nursing home.
“All of the volunteens have been amazing, some actually have been putting in extra hours; they really enjoy being here and we enjoy having them,” said Michelle Callihan, Coordinator of the Volunteen program.
